Seminar topic: “Spectral Density for a Discretized Continuum”
Speaker: Olga A. Rubtsova (SINP, MSU)
Abstract:
A general treatment for scattering problems in case of continuum discretization is suggested. The method is based on reconstruction of the integrated densities of states and spectral densities for the total and asymptotic Hamiltonians. This allows to calculate scattering phase shifts directly from the corresponding discretized spectra. The resonance parameters can be also found in this scheme. As illustrations, several examples from atomic and nuclear physics are considered by using the Gaussian basis representation. A multi-channel scattering problem is discussed as well.
