Charming Science media project
News, 15 February 2022
The Dzhelepov Laboratory of Nuclear Problems JINR has launched a media project “Charming Science”. The project is devoted to the International Day of Women and Girls in Science celebrated on 11 February.
19,4 % of employees of the Institute’s oldest laboratory are women. The DLNP Group of Scientific Communication has interviewed some of them to learn whether it is hard to do fundamental science, whether they have had challenges in careers. They share how their relatives support them and answer the question “Is science a women’s business?”
In the section dedicated to the Day of Women in Science on the UN website, there are the following words, “The main obstacles for women in science are stereotypes and prejudices existing in society.” Heros of the project think about this topic as well and share their personal experience with the audience.
There is plenty of examples of successful work of female scientists. The Charming Science project aims to show them.
