The Joint Institute for Nuclear Research has joined the international programme GNeuS (Global Neutron Scientist) aimed at the development and financing of research using neutron scattering methods.

Fellows of the programme are such research centres as the Institut Laue–Langevin (ILL) in France, the European Spallation Source in Sweden, the Budapest Neutron Centre in Hungary, etc. The programme is organized under the auspices of the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA). GNeuS is a programme designed to provide the best conditions for training a new generation of researchers in the fields of neutron physics to solve global tasks in the fields of the development of technologies, natural sciences, energetics, and environmental protection. The core of the programme is the association of Forschungszentrum Juelich (FZJ), the Technical University Munich (TUM), and the Helmholtz Zentrum Hereon (HEREON), partners at the Heinz-Maier-Leibnitz Zentrum (MLZ).

Young scientists with 6-year PhD experience or an equal research experience of 10 years may apply for participation in the programme. Participants should offer their own research project in one of the programme’s fellow research institutes. There will be 15 researchers selected for participation in the programme who will propose the best projects.

Applications for participation in GNeuS may be submitted on the website gneus.eu. The first call will open from 1 November 2021 with a deadline for submission of 15 January 2022 6:00 PM (CET).

Internship of participants at the Laboratory of Neutron Physics JINR will take three months.
