Winter meeting of PAC for Condensed Matter Physics

A regular, 55th meeting of the Programme Advisory Committee for Condensed Matter Physics of JINR will take place on 20 – 21 January 2022 in a mixed format chaired by D. L. Nagy. He will open the event by presenting information about the implementation of the recommendations of the previous PAC CMP meeting.
Vice-Director of the Institute Latchesar Kostov will present information on the Resolution of the 130th session of the JINR Scientific Council (September 2021) and on the decisions of the JINR Committee of Plenipotentiaries (November 2021).
FLNP JINR Director Valery Shvetsov will report on the status of the IBR-2 reactor. Scientific Secretary of the Laboratory Dorota Chudoba will provide information on the User Programme of the facility.
A report by Frank Schilling on the status of the Epsilon and SKAT spectrometers will continue the agenda of the meeting. Maxim Bulavin will make a report on the status of the Neptune reactor facility (IBR-3) at JINR.
FLNP Deputy Director for Science Norbert Kucerka will present a progress report on the development of the SOLCRYS Structural Research Laboratory. An FLNP engineer Bekhzodzhon Abdurakhimov will speak about the status of a new facility for neutron radiography and tomography at the WWR-SM reactor (INP AS RUz, Uzbekistan) and will present its first results.
Participants of the meeting will discuss the approach to assigning reviewers to projects. Within the programme of the event, there will be a meeting of the PAC CMP members with the Institute’s directorate and virtual presentations by young scientists.
Drafting the PAC recommendations including proposals for the next PAC meeting will conclude the event.
