On 22 december 2016, JINR Director, Academician V.A. Matveev made a report about the main results of the expiring year and objectives for 2017 at the joint meeting of the JINR Science and Technology Council and the JINR Directorate. Director of the JINR University Centre S.Z. Pakuliak spoke about development of UC JINR educational programmes for students, teachers and school students. In thier comments on reports, STC members expressed satisfaction with the results of the final year of the seven-year period of the Institute, highly appreciated the prospects of development of the major scientific directions and the increase in the number of young scientists and specialists coming to laboratories and departmnets of JINR.

Participants of the meeting congratulated Leading Scientific Sesearcher of the Frank Laboratory of Nuclear Problems Georgy Alexandrovich Shelkov on awarding him the title “Honored Scientist of the Moscow region”.
