The Guest pre-anniversary meeting of the JINR Finance Committee and session of Committee of Plenipotentiaries of JINR Member States were held on 16-22 November, 2015 in the capital of Belarus Minsk at the invitation of JINR Plenipotentiary of Belarus, Chairman of the State Committee on Science and Technology of the Republic of Belarus A.G.Shumilin.

JINR Director Academician V.A.Matveev opened the event and made a report "Recommendations of the 118th session of the JINR Scientific Council”, an overview of the results of JINR activity in 2015 and plans for 2016”. JINR Chief Scientific Secretary N.A.Russakovich made presentation of the “Plan for Development of JINR for 2017-2023”. JINR Chief Accountant S.N.Dotsenko spoke about a draft of the JINR budget for 2016. Head of the JINR International Cooperation Department D.V.Kamanin presented information on the events dedicated to the 60th anniversary of JINR which have been carried out and which have been planned jointly with the JINR Member States. The agenda also included many scientific reports. Russian Plenipotentiary, Deputy Minister of Science and Education of the Russian Federation L.M.Ogorodova made a report and assured meeting participants that Russia is aware of its great responsibility, since Russia must guarantee the stability of the Institute, and retains the JINR budget funding percentage, which amounts to more than 80 %. She also assured meeting participants that Russia will precisely implement all its financial obligations to JINR, despite the difficulty of the present economic period. And furthermore, everything possible was done to allow the Russian Federation to realize its intention of additional support of construction of the NICA collider, regardless of the country’s membership contribution.

A multinational delegation of representatives of the JINR Member States was received in the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences by Chairman Vladimir Gusakov and members of the Presidium. The current status and future prospects of cooperation of JINR and Belarus were discussed at the meeting.
