Days of Physics – 2022

Conferences

On 1 – 3 June 2022, all interested are kindly invited to participate in Days of Physics – 2022 that will be held in the Lyceum named after V. G. Kadyshevsky (3, Blokhintsev str.).

Days of Physics in Dubna is a fun science festival for school students. Physics and mathematics, chemistry and biology, entertaining experiments, a quest and non-trivial tasks, team competitions and DIY workshops.

Please note that the number of participants is limited. Admission is only by appointment.

In order to take part in the event, it is necessary to fill out registration forms (see below), receive an invitation by email, and come to the event 5-10 minutes before the start.

Programme of JINR Days of Physics – 2022 in Dubna:
  1. 1 June (Wednesday)
    11:00 AM and 3:00 PM

    Maths battle (6-7th grades). Qualifying rounds.
    Team play. Participants will solve non-trivial tasks in Natural Sciences, Mathematics, and IT.

  2. 2 June (Thursday)
    10:00 AM and 3:00 PM – Experimental Olympiad in Physics (7-8th grades).
    Test your strength in solving physical experimental tasks!

    – Workshop on Biology (5-8th grades)
    If you combine a microscope, an onion, and salt, you will learn a little more about the plant physiology that it seems

    – Workshop “Vacuum mail” and vacuum gun shooting (7th+ grade)

    – Physical Experimentarium (8th+ grade)
    Physical experiments on electrostatics, electromagnetism, and others.

    1:00 PM – In the kingdom of low temperatures. Experiments with the use of liquid nitrogen.
  3. 3 June (Friday)
    10:00 AM and 12:00 PM
    Quiz “PRO Chemistry” (7th+ grade),
    This popular interactive game will not leave anyone indifferent. Moreover, it is not necessary to be an expert in Olympiad tasks, a graduate school student, or have encyclopedic knowledge of chemistry to become a winner. Above all, our game is about logic, ingenuity, and non-standard vision.

    Physical workshops (5-7th grades)

    – Workshop “Energy Conversion”
    Participants will get an opportunity to independently assemble the facility in generator or electric motor modes. They will learn about the peculiarities of electricity production.

    – Workshop “Additive colour mixing”
    Participants will have an opportunity to assemble an additive colour mixing facility. They will learn how colour coding works for screens.

    – Workshop “Young researcher”
    Participants will have the opportunity to blow a balloon without touching it. Moreover, they will be able to measure and calculate the “predicted” dose of background radiation for a year.
