On 28 July, President of the Russian Academy of Sciences Alexander Sergeev met with President of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Plenipotentiary Representative of the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan in JINR Bekhzod Yuldashev at the Presidium of the Russian Academy of Sciences. On the same day, Alexander Sergeev festively presented Academician Bekhzod Yuldashev with the Diploma and the Badge of Foreign Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

At the meeting, participants paid great attention to such topics as the support for young scientists in the Russian Federation and the Republic of Uzbekistan, as well as current issues of the development of cooperation between the two countries in the field of advanced technologies and innovations.

The meeting was attended by RAS Vice-President Yuri Balega, Head of the International Cooperation Department of the Russian Academy of Sciences Anton Varfolomeev, Professor, Head of the Laboratory of the Institute of Microbiology of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan Toshkhon Gulyamova, and Aide to the President of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan Anvar Gulyamov.

It should be reminded that on 1 June 2022 Bekhzod Yuldashev was elected Foreign Member in the Nanotechnology and IT specialty of the Russian Academy of Sciences
