Krakow. Committee of Plenipotentiaries

A regular session of the Committee of Plenipotentiaries of the Governments of the JINR Member States chaired by Chairman of the Bulgarian Nuclear Regulatory Agency, Plenipotentiary of Bulgaria in JINR L. Kostov was held on 21-22 November 2016 in Krakow (Poland).
Before the beginning of the meeting, JINR Director V.A. Matveev read the decree of D.A. Medvedev about the appointment of Deputy RF Minister of Education and Science, Academician A.V. Lopatin as Plenipotentiary Representative of the Government of the Russian Federation in JINR.
Programme of the session included a report of JINR Director V.A. Matveev “Recommendations of the 120th session of the JINR Scientific Council (September 2016). Brief overview of the results of JINR activity in 2016 and plans for 2017. Main directions of strategic development of JINR for 2017-2023”.

The Committee of Plenipotentiaries discussed issues “Seven-Year Plan for Development of JINR for 2017-2023”, “Draft of the JINR budget for 2017 and a draft of contributions of the JINR Member States in 2018, 2019, 2020”; the CP also heard information on “Audit results of the JINR financial activity of 2015”, “Procedure for implementation of the resolution on membership of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea and the Republic of Uzbekistan in JINR”.
Participants of the session will consider the milestones of the meeting of the JINR Finance Committee, as well as the audit results of the JINR financial activity of 2015.
A report “Status and prospects of the major research projects” (G.V. Trubnikov) and “SOLARIS synchrotron in Cracow” (M. Stankevich) were heard.
After a general discussion, a discussion of the Committee’s work and adoption of decisions, a resulting protocol of the Committee of Plenipotentiaries was signed.
