A festive event dedicated to the 60th anniversary of the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research (JINR) was held in the evening of on 26 March 2016 in the Cultural Center “Mir”. Members of the JINR Directorate and JINR staff members, Dubna City Mayor Vyacheslav Mukhin, the Head and representatives of the City Administration of Dubna, leaders of enterprises and organizations of Dubna, deputies of Dubna, representatives of public associations attended the festive event.

JINR Director, RAS Academician Victor Matveev noted in his speech the main phases of establishment of the Institute and activities of JINR; he spoke about each laboratory individually, as well as about the people who became the JINR history who contributed to the establishment of key basic facilities of JINR.

The Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation awarded three JINR employees A.V.Efremov, V.K.Lukianov, M.G.Itkis the honorary title of “Honorary Worker of Science and Technology”. JINR Director presented grants and congratulatory certificates to teachers of Dubna.

At the end of his speech, on behalf of the JINR Directorate and the JINR Scientific Council, Victor Matveev congratulated staff members and veterans of JINR and all those attended the Anniversary ceremony.

After congratulatory speeches and awarding, the “Moscow Virtuosi” orchestra and Maestro Vladimir Spivakov presented their musical gift to the audience.
