On Monday, 19 April 2021, the 16th international training programme for decision-makers in science and international scientific cooperation JEMS – «JINR Expertise for Member States and Partner Countries» (JEMS-16) starts in JINR. This training programme has gathered representatives of Belarus, Bulgaria, and Russia and is held in Russian.
JINR Director Grigory Trubnikov welcomed participants of the training programme at the traditional welcome lunch. Guests shared with the Institute’s Directorate their tasks on the development of cooperation in the scientific and educational field. In particular, they asked about the operation of JINR Information Centres (IC). A round table on the issues of the IC is a peculiarity of the current training programme. It will take place on Wednesday, 21 April, in the International Conference Hall.
As usual, the basic part of the JEMS-16 programme is grouped into the scientific blocks scheduled for separate days of the training programme: “Heavy Ion Physics and Accelerator Technologies”, “Neutron Applications and Nano-world”, “Neutrino, Theory, Information, Education”, “Life sciences on the Earth and in Space”, and “Neutrino and Particle Physics”. Participants will be acquainted in detail with the Institute, will have lectures, meetings with leaders and specialists of the laboratories. Guests will visit the objects of the research infrastructure and will attend the traditional round table with the Institute’s Directorate.
The training programme JEMS-16 was supposed to take place in April 2020 but was postponed indefinitely due to the unfavourable epidemiological situation. The Directorate of the Institute makes all possible efforts to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus infection.
