Culture
On 5 – 29 May 2023, an exhibition “Bulgaria’s contribution to the Slavic cultural heritage” will be held at the exhibition hall of the JINR Cultural Centre “Mir”.
A festive opening ceremony will be held on 11 May, at 11:00 AM.
The exhibition includes photocopies of ancient handwritten documents in Glagolitic and Cyrillic alphabets, stored in the archives of Bulgaria, Macedonia, Russia and Serbia, as well as photographs of frescoes of churches and monasteries that are significant for the history of the Bulgarian people.
The presented exhibits are part of a large photo collection “The Balkans – a common heritage”, introducing the most significant cultural artefacts of the Balkan countries from the times of Antiquity and the Middle Ages. The artefacts have been collected for many years by leading Bulgarian scientists, Professor Ivan Marazov and Professor Axinia Džurova together with a photographer Ivo Hadjimishev.
The exhibition will be open daily from 1:00 to 7:00 PM, except Mondays. Admission is free.
