133rd session of JINR Scientific Council

On 16 – 17 February, the 133rd regular session of the Scientific Council of the Joint Institute will be held in a hybrid format. A report by JINR Director Grigory Trubnikov will open the programme of the event. Participants will consider the results of the past meetings of the JINR Committee of Plenipotentiaries and Programme Advisory Committees, as well as the status and prospects for the development of the Institute’s projects.
Ana María Cetto Kramis, President of the Mexican Physical Society and Professor of the Physics Institute of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), will perform at the session of the Scientific Council with the report “Expanding Mexico – JINR collaboration: some areas of potential interest”.
Director of the Institute Grigory Trubnikov will continue the session with a report on the draft of the Seven-Year Plan for the JINR Development in 2024 – 2030.
Itzhak Tserruya, Valery Nesvizhevsky, and Denes Nagy will present the recommendations of the PAC for Particle Physics, Nuclear Physics, and Condensed Matter Physics taken at the sessions in January 2023.
The programme of the first day of the session includes elections for the positions of the directors of the Laboratory of Neutron Physics and Laboratory of Information Technology, and endorsement of appointments of Deputy Directors of the Laboratory of Theoretical Physics.
The scientific reports by Ksenia Alishina “A study of the correlation between the kinetic energy of a track and its energy response in the ZDC for Run 7 of the BM@N experiment” and Meir Yerdauletov “Development of lithium-ion batteries with increased specific energy” will open the second day of the Scientific Council.
The award of the V. Dzhelepov Prize to Pavel Apel and the presentation by the laureate will take place. The jury’s decision will be announced on awarding JINR annual prizes for the best scientific, scientific-methodical, and scientific-technical applied works.
General discussion and adoption of the resolution will conclude the session.
