A working meeting with representatives of the European Commission – the Executive Committee for development of research infrastructure and coordination of joint mega-science projects, which are being implemented in Russian scientific centers and JINR, was held on 16 May 2013 in the Ministry of education and science of the Russian Federation. Meeting participants were received in the JINR Directorate in Dubna on 17 May 2013.

The Memorial seminar dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the outstanding scientist Academician Georgy Nikolaevich Flerov will be held on 24 May 2013 in the Flerov Laboratory of Nuclear Reactions.

The 16th Workshop on Computer Algebra will be held on 21-22 May 2013 in the Laboratory of Information Technologies of the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research.

Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency Yukiya Amano and his accompanying persons visited JINR on 18 May 2013.

The 3rd concluding Research Coordinated Meeting (RCM-3) Related to the IAEA Coordinated Research Project «Development, Characterization and Testing of Materials of Relevance to Nuclear Energy Sector Using Neutron Beams» was held on 13-17 May 2013 in Dubna.

The 21st International seminar on interaction of neutrons with nuclei ISINN-21 will be held on 20-25 May, 2013 in Alushta.

The 3rd Research Coordinated Meeting (RCM-3) Related to the IAEA CRP «Development, Characterization and Testing of Materials of Relevance to Nuclear Energy Sector Using Neutron Beams» started on 13 May 2013 in the International Conference Hall.

An official visit of JINR Director V.A. Matveev to the Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory (Fermilab, USA) at the invitation of the Fermilab Directorate was held on 22-24 April 2013.

Geneva, 30 April 2013 - Twenty years ago CERN published a statement that made the World Wide Web ('W3', or simply 'the web') technology available on a royalty free basis. By making the software required to run a web server freely available, along with a basic browser and a library of code, the web was allowed to flourish.

The 4th JINR-CERN School on Information Technology «GRID and Advanced Information Systems» was opened on 22 April 2013 in the International Conference Hall. JINR Vice-Director M.G. Itkis and Co-Chairman of the School Organizing Committee, JINR Director Advisor, CERN Honorary Member J. Ferguson presented reports on history of establishment of these scientific centers, their structure, fields of research, prospects and plans of activities in the nearest years.
